Welcome to the official UCMF website.

The Uganda Christian Medical Fellowship, UCMF, is a fellowship of Christian Medical doctors and dentists as well as Medical students which endeavours to spur one another unto love and good works as we live the Christian life in the medical arena. UCMF is non denominational and works with local churches.

XIII ICMDA WORLD CONGRESS

28-8-05 -

  UCMF Afternoon organised by the M.O.s This will be taking place in Sydney Australia from 11 - 16 July 2006 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will be preceded by the Student and Junior Graduates World Conference from 7 - 11 July 2006 at the Merroo Christian Conference Centre. The theme of the conference is Health and Hope.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE

FOCUS Child Project

This is a community-based outreach programme committed to making a holistic impact on the Mulago-Kalerwe slum community by using thye children as the entry point. It supports 216 children. These children are supported financially through individual sponsorship so that htey may have the opportunity to attend school and also be provided with their basic needs. Through various educational programmes, FOCUS exposes these children to opportunities that will help them develop spiritually, physically, sociallyand economically.

In targeting the children, FOCUS also hopes to reach the parents, and therefore the wider community, with the Good News of Jesus Christ in order to influence the community values.

How can you be involved?

  • Supporting a child in the project. Each year would cost Ug Shs 200,000 for a child in Primary school, and 360,000 for a child in secondary school.

  • Donating secondary school textbooks.

  • Volunteering to teach children at the centre whether on Life Skills, Health and Hygeine, or sharing the word of God.

  • Donating food items that are given to families of the very destitute or families of those with a parent/caregiver living with HIV/AIDS and unable to work.

  • Donating scholastic materials, clothes, shoes etc for the children

  • Praying for the people in the Mulago-Kalerwe community and the work God is doing in their midst.

  • Being a love sponsor to an already sponsored child who is in a child-headed home and needs mentors or a mother/father figure in his/her life.

  • Visiting a family of a parent/caregiver that is living with HIV/AIDS and being a friend to the family.
